It's so cold
Yesterday and today, as well, have been one of those days where you want to grab a blanket and a good book. The weather outside is quite frightful if I do say so myself. Yesterday was our bi-monthly grocery run day. I opened the door and got a nice smack of ice in the face. I thought my ears were going to fall off. Nevertheless, I closed the door and put an extra layer of clothing on all the kids and then made a second attempt at getting out of the front door. We rushed to the car as fast as we could, buckeled everyone in and then remembered we had left something inside. So after deciding who would be the unlucky candidate to go back out into the cold we were finally on our way to get some fresh fruits and vegetables. Upon arrival we divided up the kids and set out to get the things we needed. I was warned by a close friend not to go grocery shopping so soon after the holidays, but I didn't take his well intened advice and paid for it. I rushed through the store feeling like a little ball in one of those pinball machines only to find out that the check-out line wrapped half way through the store.....literally. About 3 hours later everyone's sitting back at home wondering if we really needed groceries that bad. I say yes, but that's just one person's opinion isn't it? Rounds of creamy hot cocoa won most of the house back over. The rest were sleeping. After dinner had been served, dishes done, kids bathed and put to bed it was finally time to wind down. I spent the rest of the evening straightening out things for the next day and working on some things for the new website; dahliasroses.etsy.com . I must say that taking pictures takes much longer than I thought it did. When my nightly goal was met I headed off to bed for a, hopefully, quiet night of rest.
